New greenway makes recreation safe and fun.

The Dequindre Cut Greenway is urban recreational path, that has been open since 2009. The 1.5-mile greenway offers a pedestrian link between the Riverfront, Eastern Market and many residential neighborhoods. Formerly a Grand Trunk Railroad line, this public/private initiative is rife with beautiful displays of urban artwork and graffiti and has fast become one of the city’s most-loved assets. Plans are underway for phase II of the Dequindre Cut, which would extend the pathway north from Gratiot Avenue to Mack Avenue. Programming, maintenance and security is provided by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy
